Arab Parliament Slams Rising Israeli Aggression, Urges Swift International Response

CAIRO – The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, has strongly condemned the intensifying Israeli aggression targeting Palestinian civilians, describing the unfolding crisis as a series of “brutal massacres” and “systematic violations of international law.”

In an official statement, Al Yamahi decried the repeated Israeli military campaigns, forced displacement of Palestinian families, unlawful land annexations, and recurring incursions into the sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque. He pointed to a recent provocative incident in which Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir entered the mosque’s compound, waved the Israeli flag, and performed religious rituals—actions the Arab Parliament views as a dangerous affront to the sentiments of Muslims globally.

“These actions represent not just violations of Palestinian rights but blatant defiance of international law and United Nations resolutions,” Al Yamahi said.

Highlighting the humanitarian toll, Al Yamahi shared the devastating account of Palestinian doctor Alaa Al-Najjar, who lost nine of her children in an Israeli airstrike while she was providing medical care in Gaza. He also condemned a separate attack on a school sheltering displaced civilians, which resulted in more than 40 deaths and numerous injuries. The Arab Parliament labeled the incident a “war crime” and demanded that those responsible be held fully accountable.

“The international community, and in particular the UN Security Council, must abandon its silence,” Al Yamahi asserted. “It is time to uphold moral and legal responsibilities to stop this ongoing bloodshed and protect Palestinian civilians—especially women and children—who are bearing the brunt of this aggression.”

Al Yamahi also warned of increasing violations by Israeli settlers, under military protection, at both Islamic and Christian holy sites. He reiterated that any breach of Al-Aqsa Mosque’s sanctity is a red line, stressing the importance of preserving the religious and cultural identity of Jerusalem.

Reaffirming the Arab Parliament’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian cause, Al Yamahi reiterated support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. He emphasized the urgent need to recognize an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem (Al-Quds) as its capital, in line with international resolutions and longstanding Arab consensus.
