Tehran – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has called on Islamic governments to adopt concrete measures to halt what he described as the “Zionist killing machine,” highlighting the ongoing genocide against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Speaking during an open session of the Iranian Parliament on Wednesday, Qalibaf emphasized that Muslim countries must rise above rhetoric and take real, coordinated actions. “Muslims must unanimously condemn the genocide in Gaza, and Islamic countries must take practical steps to put an end to the Zionist regime’s crimes,” he said, according to reports from the Iranian News Agency (IRNA).
Qalibaf tied his message to the spiritual significance of the current period, noting that the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) serves as a reminder of Islam’s message of faith, compassion, and justice. “These days remind us of the Prophet of Mercy’s mission to build a society grounded in faith, reason, and love. Muslims are called to display unity and compassion more than ever before,” he added.

Marking Unity Week, Qalibaf underscored that solidarity among Muslims is not a temporary political maneuver but a long-term religious and strategic necessity. “The anniversary of the Prophet’s birth is a chance to revisit Islam’s core values—brotherhood, morality, and justice. The Islamic Ummah must rely on these shared principles to stand united against its enemies,” he stressed.
He further declared that the most pressing form of unity today should be demonstrated against the Zionist regime. “The Zionist entity represents the gravest evil, and unity in resisting it is the clearest test of the Islamic world’s strength,” Qalibaf concluded.
