The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has called on former US President Donald Trump to intervene and put an end to the ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, which have resulted in the deaths of over 400 people as of Tuesday.
“President Trump must take decisive action to stop this bloodshed. The Israeli government, led by indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, has once again launched brutal attacks, killing hundreds of Palestinians—including women and children—during the sacred month of Ramadan,” said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad in a statement.
CAIR strongly denounced the Israeli offensive, describing it as “genocidal,” and emphasized that the US would be complicit if it failed to intervene.
“If the US government does not take firm action against this renewed campaign of mass killings, destruction, and ethnic cleansing, Israel will continue to operate without consequences. This administration risks the same level of complicity in genocide as was seen during the Biden era,” Awad added.
The latest wave of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, which took place early Tuesday, violated the ceasefire agreement that had been in place since January 19. Reports confirm that at least 404 people lost their lives, with hundreds more injured.

Eyewitness accounts and images from the scene show the overwhelming majority of casualties were civilians, many of whom were women and children whose homes were bombed in the middle of the night.
Since the escalation of violence in October 2023, more than 48,500 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed, and over 112,000 others have been injured in what human rights organizations describe as a relentless military assault on Gaza.
In November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza.
Additionally, Israel is currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) due to its military actions in the region.
